Java Momma Review – Real Coffee Business or Huge Scam?

Welcome to this Java Momma Review.

Okay, I absolutely love , so of course I was bona fide interested when I saw this business opportunity.  Coffee is a huge market, and there is certainly demand for quality coffee.  The first thing I do in the morning is make a cup of coffee.  Imagine all the stay at home moms in the direct sales industry that need coffee everyday.

It’s a new company, so you’ll be happy to know I’ve pulled all the information together for you.

Java Momma Review – The Company

Java Momma is a direct sales company that focuses on organic fair trade coffee.

The company Java Momma launched October 2, 2017 by Melissa and Brian Shoop and Adriona Spring.

There isn’t much information regarding the company on their website.

The coffee is locally and freshly roasted, then shipped directly to your front door. It’s a fascinating business for those coffee lovers out there.  Java Momma provides a huge selection of roastings, grinds, and flavors, and now they also have teas and cocoas.

The website is appealing to an interested customer, but it’s only an online eCommerce store through Shopify.

Java Momma Review – The Products

The selection of organic coffee that Java Momma carries is certified USDA Organic Coffee through their own roaster.  They also carry a number of Fair-Trade Coffees from farmers in developing countries around the world.  They coffee from Bali, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Haiti, Rwanda, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Nicaragua, and Sumatra.

The interesting factor to this company in my opinion are all the different and interesting flavors of coffee.  The prices aren’t over the top from what you would spend at the grocery store either.

Aside from coffee, there is also an assortment of teas, hot cocoas, and accessories.

There is also a subscription box for $25.99.  It provides three bags of regular or decaffeinated coffee each month and a surprise gift.  Monthly boxes are always fun.  They are a great way to try new flavors, especially flavors you wouldn’t normally try on a regular basis.  Each box is subscribed to on a monthly basis with a 10% discount.

I love chocolate coffee, so I think I am going to purchase this box and let you all know what I think of the coffee.

Java Momma Review – How to Join As A Barista

Like most direct sales companies, there is a chance to start a business when you sign up as a Java Momma Barista.

It is $65 to join Java Momma as one of their Independent Consultants, known as a Barista.  This kit is only for new customers that want to join as a Barista to start a business.  Each Barista also receives a 20% discount on all purchases from Java Momma.

  • Sample Bags of Coffee – 20
  • Product Catalogs – 20
  • Opportunity Brochures – 20
  • Barista Manual
  • Free Replicated Website

There are multiple different ways you can make money online with this company.

Each barista receives a free replicated website from the company, and that can be extremely powerful.  This doesn’t limit you to any audience when selling your products, except you need to make sure your customer uses your link.

There’s also Facebook events like online parties, Farmers Markets, and home parties.

Java Momma Review – Compensation Plan

There is a three tier payment structure with Java Momma.  That means if I sign you up, you sign up Beth,  Beth signs up Tali, then I will make a commission all the way to Tali.  Commission is 20% from each sale, and you can purchase the coffee at a 20% discount price.  Except for the subscription boxes, they are a 10% commission for each sale.

Java Momma Review – The Verdict

It takes a lot of time and energy to start a direct sales business.  This business is different and interesting, and I could see someone putting passion into it to make it huge.  The creators of this business really seem to have put a lot of work into this company to make it huge.

The only thing that scares me is when I get involved with a small company and it crashes after I have invested my precious time, energy, and money.  We can’t say that is what this company is going to do, and all we can do is stay positive, work hard, and hope for the best.

Java Momma has an advantage in the direct sales industry in my opinion selling coffee with all the stay at home moms that need coffee to survive on a daily basis.

The compensation plan isn’t too bad, but I would prefer to make at least 25% on each sale.  If a customer joins and becomes a Barista, then you might only make 5% on all future sales according to the leadership bonus picture above.

I’m not a fan of during the sign up process, that a person has to put my name down to be on my downline.  That’s why we have replicated website links?  Many will lose team members, because a lot of people aren’t going to remember their sponsors name if they aren’t friends and family.

There isn’t a lot of information regarding the compensation plan and company online, which isn’t something I like to much either.  I have sent a message to the company regarding the commissions pay scale for each level.

If you are only making 5% for your first level members that you personally signed up, then it’s going to take time to build this business into a successful income to depend on.

Java Momma probably isn’t going to teach you how to promote your own website, generate traffic to your website, or how to promote your business using social media.

It doesn’t matter what you decide to promote, it’s important to know how to grow your business.
